Hedge cutting

Professional hedge management services

Hedges require regular maintenance and attention to keep them in top condition. New hedges will require pruning after planting in order to develop a network of branches which are filled out with bushy growth. Established hedges require maintenance pruning to ensure dense and healthy growth, whilst helping to maintain the hedge at a suitable size.

Pruning may be required once or twice a year depending on the variety of hedge and style of presentation. Formal hedges, (ones with crisp lines used to define lines and boundaries) may need cutting two to three times a year whilst informal hedges with softer edges may only require cutting once a year to keep them in check.

Different types of hedges are better pruned at certain times of the year, for example conifer hedges are best pruned earlier in the season to ensure effective regrowth.

Hedges are a wonderful natural way of defining boundaries and areas of your garden as well as providing an effective noise barrier to adjacent roads or pavements.
